Northern Territory Police are seeking public assistance in relation to property offences occurring in the Golf Course and Fairway area earlier this week.
Police responded to a report of an unlawful entry in progress at a home in the Golf Course estate around 1pm on Tuesday.
With the assistance of witnesses, the offender was located and arrested by police. He will appear before the Alice Springs Youth Justice Court charged with one count of Unlawful Entry, today.
A door knock of the area revealed a number of attempted unlawful entries and one unlawful entry of a home where items were stolen.
Officers managed to recover and return most of these items but continue to appeal for the owner of a BMX bike, believed to have been stolen from the area, to contact them on 131 444 or via the Alice Springs Police Station front counter.
Plain Clothes Constable First Class Brett Geranios said the report and arrest of the offender was an excellent example of Neighbourhood Watch.
“In this instance police were alerted to a crime in progress by a member of the public and were able to respond immediately and prevent further offences,” said Plain Clothes Constable First Class Brett Geranios
“We would like to thank the community for the prompt reporting of suspicious behavior in the area.”
