Police seek to identify Fairfield burglar

Darebin Crime Investigation Unit detectives are seeking assistance to identify a man following a burglary and theft of mote vehicle in Fairfield earlier this month.

The man entered the station street apartment complex about 3.30am on Wednesday, 1 July.

He was sighted in the foyer of the building on a silver bike and he then accessed the basement via the buildings lift.

Several vehicles were searched before the offender attempted to steal a KTM Duke motorbike which was parked in the basement, however he was unsuccessful.

Investigators believe a second man came to the aid of the would-be thief about 3.50am, 20 minutes after the first man originally entered the building.

The pair successfully stole the motorbike from the basement car park and left via the basement roller door.

The first offender is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, approximately xxxcm tall with a medium build.

He was wearing a bright yellow hoodie and dark coloured track pants and a bike helmet.

The second man was wearing black pants with a black jacket with a (brand name) motif on the back of the jacket.

Investigators have released images and CCTV of two men they believe will be able to assist with their enquiries.
