Police seek witnesses after hit-run collision in Tarneit

Westgate Highway Patrol are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was left injured in the middle of the road following a hit-run collision in Tarneit last night.

Officers have been told the 21-year-old woman was crossing Leakes Road, near the intersection of Penrose Promenade, when she was struck by a white sedan about 5.45pm.

The driver of the white sedan did not stop to assist the young woman and sped away from the scene, east bound towards Derrimut Road.

Another passing motorist stopped to assist and raised the alarm.

The Tarneit woman was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Police are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam vision or any motorists in the vicinity of the collision at the time to come forward.
