Police Seek Witnesses: Fatal Traffic Crash in Fassifern, QLD

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was killed in a traffic crash in Fassifern, on Wednesday, August 28.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 6.40pm, a utility was travelling east along the Cunningham Highway when it crossed onto the wrong side of the road and stuck a truck, travelling the opposite direction.

The passenger in the utility, a 36-year-old Boonah woman, was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, but was declared deceased on arrival.

The utility driver, a 34-year-old Mount French man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and is continuing to assist police with their enquiries.

The truck driver, a 67-year-old Tenterfield man, was not physically injured.

Police are appealing to witnesses, particularly anyone who was interviewed by officers at the scene, to come forward.

Anyone who saw the utility, a white two-door 2003 Mazda B2600, prior to the crash, is also urged to contact police.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
