Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses in relation to a structure fire that occurred in the early hours of this morning.
At about 3:00am, police received reports of a residence located on Bruce Street in Gillen on fire and a potential person to be inside.
Upon arrival police and emergency crews could not enter due to the building being engulfed in flames. Nearby by residences were evacuated.
A 53-year-old woman believed to be the occupant, alerted police she had seen the suspected person still to be inside the building walking away from the scene.
Police begun foot patrolling the area when they located the 19-year-old and arrested him.
It is believed that the male offender is known to the occupant who resided in the building.
