Police seek witnesses to Carrum Downs incident

Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses after a shot was fired in Carrum Downs this morning.

Police have been told a man was walking along Cadles Road when he was approached by a person with a gun who fired a shot at him about 8.20am.

The man was not shot but it is believed a driver in a stolen black Ford Focus then ran into the man.

The occupants of the black Ford and the person with the firearm then fled the scene in a waiting vehicle, believed to be a silver Toyota Camry.

The black Ford was left behind at the scene.

A 25-year-old Langwarrin man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

Detectives are investigating whether parties are known to each other.

Investigators believe the vehicle may have been in the area for in the lead-up to the incident and are appealing to anyone who may have seen the vehicle to come forward.
