Police seek witnesses to Doveton collision

Police are investigating a hit run collision in Doveton this afternoon (24 August).

A Commodore sedan with stolen number plates crashed on Power Road in Doveton just after 3.30pm.

Investigators have been told the vehicle had been seen driving erratically, before side swiping another vehicle, losing control and hitting a tree.

The male driver was picked up by someone driving an Audi which clipped a pedestrian as it was leaving the scene.

The occupants of the vehicle that was side swiped, a 22-year-old man and a 5-year-old boy have been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made at this stage but the Audi, believed to be the one involved, was located on fire in Ashwood a short time later.
