Officers investigating a crash where a man was seriously injured by his own 4WD after it was struck from behind by another car at Minto last month are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.
Around 4.20pm on Friday 19 June 2020, a man 48-year-old man was driving a white Toyota Landcruiser on Ben Lomond Drive, Minto, when it broke down.
As the man was looking under the bonnet, a silver Toyota Corolla sedan, driven by a 26-year-old woman, crashed into the rear of the Landcruiser.
The impact caused the Landcruiser to mount the kerb and into a roadside barrier, pinning the man.
The man suffered multiple fractures to his face and ribs and was taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Corolla was taken to Campbelltown Hospital with chest injuries.
As inquiries continue, investigating officers are keen to speak with anyone who might have witnessed the crash, to come forward.
Police would like to speak with the driver of a Ford Mustang, that stopped and blocked traffic until police arrived.
Investigators believe there was at least three other vehicles that stopped to assist at the scene and might have witnessed the crash.
Those vehicles are described as a white van with a ladder strapped to the roof; a Ford utility with a tray top; and a Kia 4WD.
If anyone witnessed the crash and has not already spoken with police, or has dash-cam footage of the crash which might assist police with their investigation, they are asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
