Police seeking public assistance in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are appealing for public assistance in relation to a reported indecent assault incident in Alice Springs last month.

On 15 February 2020 at around 11:00pm, a woman was in the upstairs bar area of a licensed premises in Reg Harris Lane when it is alleged she was indecently assaulted by a man.

Police have viewed CCTV footage from the night which allegedly identifies the same man indecently assaulting another woman prior to the reported incident.

Constable First Class Jeremy Cross said police haven’t confirmed the identity of the other victim but urge anyone with information which may assist with the investigation, to come forward.

“We have reason to believe there was more than one woman indecently assaulted at this licensed premises on that night and we would like to speak with her.

A 45-year-old man is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
