A man has been shot by police following an incident in Mulgrave this morning.
Police were called to Salford Court following reports a man had assaulted a woman just before 7.30am.
Police attempted to arrest the man who produced a knife.
OC spray was deployed before the man was shot by police just after 8am.
He has been taken to hospital in a critical condition under police guard.
The investigation is ongoing, as per standard protocol following a police shooting, the Armed Crime squad will investigate the incident with oversight from Professional Standards Command.
