Police step up search for Kobie Parfitt’s killer

Detectives from the Missing Persons Squad have stepped up their investigation in the suspicious disappearance of Kobie Parfitt after receiving information that indicates she was murdered in April.

Last Sunday, investigators along with Kobie’s mother Kathy, appealed for public assistance for anyone who held information around her disappearance.

Following information received from the public, police now believe that Kobie was last seen alive at a property in Hickman Street, Ballarat on 28 April – the same day they believe she was murdered.

Detective Inspector Andrew Stamper from the Missing Persons Squad said they are aware there are more people out there with information around what happened to Kobie and who was responsible for her death.

“We have received a significant amount of information since Sunday and as a result, our investigation has gained significant momentum.”

“While we feel we are close to getting to the bottom of what happened to Kobie, we are once again urging anyone who knows anything to come forward to police.”

“This include anyone who may have been involved, as it’s only a matter of time before we find them,” he said.

Anyone with information regarding Kobie’s death is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
