Police treating fire as suspicious – Mermaid Beach

Police are investigating a suspicious fire that extensively damaged a health spa at Mermaid Beach in the early hours of this morning.

Around 3.45am emergency services were called to the Cronulla Avenue business after smoke was seen coming from the premises.

A crime scene has been declared and is presently under police guard.

Forensic officers are expected to examine the scene this morning.

Investigations are ongoing.
