Police update 1: Armed robbery at Burleigh Heads, QLD

Detectives from the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch are seeking public assistance to identify a man involved in an armed robbery at Burleigh Heads on November 28.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 10pm, the man entered a bottle shop along West Street and threatened a staff member with a knife, demanding cash.

The shop assistant complied and was not physically injured.

The man left the store on foot towards Burleigh Street and Acanthus Avenue, with a quantity of cash and alcohol.

He is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 175cm tall, aged in his early 20s with an Australian accent.

Police are also appealing to nearby residents and motorists to review their CCTV and dashcam for any relevant vision.

Anyone who recognises the man is urged to immediately contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
