Police update 1: Murder charges at Rockhampton

Police have charged a man with two counts of murder (domestic violence offence) after the bodies of two people were located inside a residence in Rockhampton today, August 10.

Officers attended the address on Bean Street in Park Avenue for a welfare check just before 11am, following a man attending Fortitude Valley police station in Brisbane and allegedly reporting there were two dead people at the residence.

A second crime scene was also established at an apartment complex on Constance Street, Fortitude Valley where the man is understood to have been staying.

A vehicle has also been seized at the Rockhampton airport and taken away for forensic examination.

A 31-year-old Park Avenue man has been charged with two counts of murder (domestic violence offences).

He is due to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday, August 11.
