Police Update 1: Robbery With Violence At Westbrook

Police have charged two men following an investigation into the alleged robbery with violence of a Westbrook bakery on 12 September.

Around 4.15am, two men arrived at the Main Street business and allegedly assaulted a male employee who was standing outside before holding him on the ground.

One of the men then allegedly entered the store and stole a cash register before both left the scene on foot.

A 22-year-old Centenary Heights man was taken to Toowoomba Base Hospital with serious injuries to his eye and head.

Around 2.15pm on 14 September, police executed a search warrant at an address in Kearneys Spring, where both men were taken into custody.

A 27-year-old Oakey man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, grievous bodily harm and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

A 25-year-old Slacks Creek man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, grievous bodily harm, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Both men have been remanded in custody and are due to reappear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on 3 November.
