Police update 1: Wounding in Toowoomba City, QLD

Toowoomba Detectives have charged two males in relation to the alleged wounding of an 18-year-old man in Toowoomba City last night (February 16).

Police will allege just after 7pm, the 18-year-old man became involved in a verbal argument with three males on Chronicle Lane.

It will be alleged at least one of the males and the 18-year-old were known to each other.

The argument escalated into a physical altercation, with one of the males allegedly producing a knife and stabbing the 18-year-old man in the chest, before leaving the scene.

The 18-year-old man was transported to Toowoomba Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigations led Toowoomba detectives to locate a 14-year-old Kingsthorpe boy and an 18-year-old Oakey man, taking them into custody.

The 18-year-old Oakey man has been charged with wounding and possession of a knife in a public place.

He was denied bail and is expected to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court today (February 17).

He was denied bail and will appear in Toowoomba Childrens Court.

A third person, a 15-year-old boy, is currently assisting police with enquiries.

Investigations are ongoing.
