Police update 4: Appeal to identify witnesses in homicide investigation at Nambour

Sunshine Coast detectives investigating the alleged murder of 31-year-old Buddina woman Aysha Baty are hoping to identify three male witnesses who may have information crucial information to the case.

Police were called to Matthew Street, Nambour around 1.30am on Saturday, August 22 following reports a woman had been seriously assaulted.

Aysha was located with significant injuries and declared deceased at the scene.

A 34-year-old Burnside man has since been arrested and charged with her murder.

Police have released CCTV of three young males who are seen in the vicinity of the scene at the time of the alleged murder.

The trio are not alleged to be involved in the offence in any way, however may be able to provide detectives with information that will assist the investigation.

Anyone who may be able to identify them is urged to contact police.

Detectives are also appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Nambour CBD, particularly Currie Street on the bridge, near Nambour RSL who observed any suspicious behaviour between 12.30pm and 2am on August 22 to come forward.
