Police update: Assault in Broadbeach, QLD

Police have charged a 22-year-old man this morning after a bus driver was allegedly punched in the face following a verbal argument with a pedestrian in Broadbeach on July 21, 2019.

It will be alleged a bus driver was punched three times to the face just before 8pm after a pedestrian approached the bus driver’s window and started to yell at him on Hooker Boulevard in Broadbeach.

The 54-year-old bus driver received bruising to the right side of his head and eye area as well as a bloodied nose. He was treated at the scene.

A 22-year-old man from Mermaid Beach has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.

He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court on August 7, 2019.
