Police update: Homicide investigation at Parkinson, QLD

Police are investigating whether the alleged murder of a man and woman at Parkinson may be linked to the fatal shooting of a man at Drewvale this morning.

Around 6am, police responded to reports of a man walking alongside the Logan Motorway.

Upon arrival, police were immediately confronted with the 22-year-old Calamvale man who allegedly threatened officers with a knife.

Police shot the man and immediately rendered first aid. He died a short time later.

At approximately 3pm today police were called to an address on Ulinga Crescent to conduct a welfare check.

An 87-year-old man and an 86-year-old woman, believed to be residents of the home, were located deceased inside after suffering significant injuries.

A crime scene has been declared.

The investigation is at an early stage and no further information can be confirmed at this time.

The Ethical Standards Command is investigating the police shooting, overseen by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
