Detectives from Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man following investigation into the death of a 44-year-old woman at Mundingburra in Townsville yesterday.
Emergency services were called at approximately 11.45am to a Wellington Street address following reports a woman had suffered critical stab wounds.
The 44-year-old woman was declared deceased at the scene.
A 25-year-old man was taken into custody at Gulliver Street.
A 48-year-old Mundingburra man was also at the Wellington Street residence and was allegedly assaulted by the man.
It will be alleged the two men and the woman are known to each other.
The 25-year-old Currajong man has been charged with one count each of murder and one count of serious assault with intent to commit a crime (both domestic violence offences). He has also been charged with one count of going armed so as to cause fear and will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court today.
