Police update: Structure fire at Mackay

Police have released body worn camera vision of a structure fire where three officers rescued a 60-year-old man on Saturday (December 12).

Officers forced entry to the building through a window after hearing the man inside. The three officers pulled him from the building and immediately commenced first aid.

He was later transported to hospital with significant burns to his body and remains in a critical condition in the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

The three officers attended Mackay Base Hospital for precautionary checks and have since returned to duty.

Investigations into the cause of the fire continue.
