Police update: Suspicious fire at Mermaid Beach, QLD

Police have released CCTV and are appealing for information in relation to a fire that extensively damaged a health spa at Mermaid Beach in the early hours of November 4.

The vision shows two offenders at the rear of the building in the moments before – and after – the fire started at the Cronulla Avenue address.

Emergency services were called around 3.45am after smoke was seen coming from the premises. The fire was put out a short time later, however the building was badly damaged.

Preliminary investigations indicate the fire was deliberately started in multiples locations within the business.

Investigators are urging anyone who may have information in relation to the incident to contact police.
