The State Government has extended deadlines, to give pool and spa owners more time to get safety barriers inspected and certified.
First certificate lodgement deadlines for pools and spas are now 1 June, 2022 (instead of 1 November, 2021), with subsequent lodgement deadlines moved back to June, 2023 and June, 2024, respectively.
The State Government noted the challenges imposed by the pandemic as the reason for the deadline extension, along with challenges finding building practitioners to inspect and certify safety barriers, and fix identified non-compliant barriers.
