Rockhampton Regional Libraries are excited to announce that hugely popular rural author Fleur McDonald will be launching her newest book Voices in the Dark at the Southside Library on Monday 6 November from 10am -11.30am.

Communities and Heritage Councillor Drew Wickerson said it will be a great opportunity for lovers of contemporary Australian literature to meet and enjoy conversation with this well-known author.

“We are incredibly excited to host Fleur McDonald at our Library. Her ability to craft compelling stories set in the heart of rural Australia has earned her a dedicated following,” Cr Wickerson said.

“Drawing on her personal experience of life on the land, Fleur writes about Australian bush themes, and is not afraid to tackle challenging issues such as autism and domestic violence.

“Her many books include the popular Detective Dave series and best-sellers Broad River Station and Into the Night, which have greatly resonated with readers both in Australia and overseas.

“Fleur has sold over 750,00 copies of her books, solidifying her position as one of the country’s favourite storytellers.

“Executive Producer ABC Radio Australia, Inga Stunzner will be leading a relaxed and informal In Conversation chat with Fleur. Seats are limited, so avoid disappointment and get in early to book your spot.”

QBD Rockhampton will have a pop-up stall selling copies of Fleur’s books during the morning, with the opportunity to get your purchase personally signed by the author following the session.

The event is proudly sponsored by Allen & Unwin, one of Australia’s leading independent book publishers.
