MEDIA STATEMENT – Preserving Local Heritage

On Tuesday of this week Goulburn Mulwaree Council Mayor Peter Walker and Chief Executive Officer Aaron Johansson met with Member for Goulburn, The Hon. Wendy Tuckerman, and Minister for Environment and Heritage, The Hon. James Griffin at Kenmore Hospital to discuss the heritage value of Kenmore Hospital to the region.

Discussions were also held in relation to various other heritage sites in the region.

“Council staff are working closely with the ARTC, the owner of St Johns Orphanage and representatives of Kenmore Hospital and the former Furniture Warehouse on Sloane Street, to ensure these sites are kept secure.” Said Mayor Peter Walker.

“I would also like to remind the public that these sites are dangerous and are private property.” He continued.
