Property offence and weapons arrest, Springfield Lakes 28 March

Queensland Police have charged a 36-year-old Ellen Grove man following investigations into alleged incidents at Springfield Lakes and Oxley earlier this month.

It will be alleged on March 18, the man was involved in an armed break and enter at a Berkshire Place, Springfield Lakes address, where he was allegedly in possession of a firearm.

The man fled the scene following an altercation with a resident at the address.

It will be further alleged on March 22, the man was reportedly sighted in the Oxley area, and to ensure community safety, a PSPA was declared at approximately 1:50pm.

A thorough search was conducted of the area; however, the man was not located at the time, and the PSPA was revoked at approximately 4.15pm.

Yesterday, Ipswich Detectives and specialist police were able to take the man into custody at an Annerley address.

He has been charged with five counts of enter premise and commit indictable offence, two counts each of receiving tainted property, stealing, and one count each of enter dwelling with intent whilst armed, dangerous conduct with a weapon, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving unlicenced, burglary, possess tainted property, possess implements for house breaking, unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court today, March 28.
