Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act due to a dangerous bush fire burning in the vicinity of Cypress Gardens.
The exclusion zone is bound by Groszman Road to the west, Cypress Avenue to the south and along Nine Mile Road to Antonio Road to the north.
Residents within the exclusion zone are urged to follow the advice of emergency services on the ground.
An Evacuation Centre has been established at Millmerran Community Cultural Centre at 42 Wapole Street.
The Gore Highway is closed between the BP at Captains Mountain and Cypress Gardens.
Members of the public are advised to avoid the area.
