Public appeal after Brunswick assault

Police are appealing for public assistance following an assault in Brunswick two weeks ago.

Investigators have been told a man was walking towards his Park Street address when he observed an unknown man parked in his driveway about 4.50pm on 10 March.

The 73-year-old man approached his driveway and asked the man to move his car, but he became verbally aggressive and seriously assaulted the victim before driving away.

The victim sustained serious injuries during the incident and was hospitalised.

Police believe the offender was driving a silver or grey Holden Commodore sedan and may have been picking up children from a nearby primary school.

Investigators have released an image of a similar car and a computer-generated image of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 60s, about 180cm tall and has a stocky build.

He was wearing a black top and had reading glasses on at the time of the offence.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or file a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
