Police have released footage of a car as part of the investigation into the grievous bodily harm of a man at Southport on Wednesday September 28.
Around 1am, the 30-year-old man was walking across Scarborough Street, in the vicinity of a fast-food pizza restaurant, when a passing white hatchback nearly collided with him.
A man and woman exited the vehicle and a verbal argument ensued between them and the 30-year-old.
The man then approached the 30-year-old and assaulted him, punching him multiple times to the face, before the pair fled in the vehicle.
The 30-year-old sustained facial injuries including fractured eye-sockets and internal bleeding.
He was located a short time later by a passer-by who contacted emergency services.
The man was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he underwent surgery.
Police have released footage of the vehicle of interest, believed to be a white Holden Viva hatchback, and are appealing to anyone who may have information in regard to the assault to come forward:
