Public appeal: Indecent treatment of a child at Highland Park, QLD

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash-camera footage following the alleged indecent treatment of a 7-year-old girl at Highland Park on Tuesday May 11.

It will be alleged that around 4.30pm, the girl was at an educational facility on Alexander Drive when she was approached by a man from a nearby bus stop who was not known to her.

After a short conversation, the man allegedly indecently touched the girl before he was interrupted and fled on a bus.

Following investigations, a 21-year-old Yarrabilba man was arrested and charged this afternoon with one count of indecent treatment of a child.

Police are now appealing to anyone who may have seen something suspicious – or may have captured dash camera footage – around the bus stop outside the educational facility on Alexander Drive between 4:15pm and 4:45pm on Tuesday May 11 to come forward.
