Public Exhibition – Draft Code of Meeting Practice

Public exhibitionHawkesbury City Council, at a Council Meeting on 12 December 2023, has proposed to make an amendment to the Code of Meeting Practice, which was adopted by Council in 2022. Council proposes to amend Clause 3.16 of Council’s Code of Meeting Practice on giving notice for the submission of Notices of Motion and Questions With Notice, as follows:

  • 3.16 A Councillor may give notice of any business they wish to be considered by the Council at its next Ordinary Meeting by way of a Notice of Motion. To be included on the agenda of the Council Meeting, the Notice of Motion must be in writing and must be submitted eight (8) days before the meeting is to be held, or eleven (11) days if the notice is a question under clause 3.19.

Council is inviting community members to view and comment on Council’s Draft Code of Meeting Practice Policy, which is now on public exhibition for 28 days at www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au with submissions being accepted for 42 days up to close of business on Monday, 26 February 2024.

A hard copy of the Draft Policy can also be viewed at Council’s Administration Building, 366 George Street, Windsor, Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm during the exhibition period.
