Put your name up in lights by applying for the WA Training Awards 2019

  • Applications are now open for the WA Training Awards 2019
  • New categories introduced for Large Employer of the Year and Medium Employer of the Year
  • Winners of individual categories will receive $3,000 study grant
  • Applications for the WA Training Awards 2019 are now open. This is an opportunity for the Western Australian training sector to showcase excellence, reward best practice and put our State’s best VET achievers in the spotlight.

The awards recognise and reward the achievements of apprentices, trainees and vocational students; and the contribution of trainers, training organisations and employers.

This year will see the introduction of separate categories for Large Employer of the Year and Medium Employer of the Year. This will help to better recognise the contribution, employers of all sizes make to the training sector.

Award winners will be announced at a presentation ceremony in September with winners of individual categories receiving $3,000 to further their training or kickstart their careers.

Winners may also be eligible to compete against the nation’s best at the Australian Training Awards later in the year.

In 2018, the State recorded its best ever results at the national awards with six of WA’s nominees taking out national titles.

Applications close on May 3, 2019.

As noted by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:

“The WA Training Awards have played a key role for the last 25 years in uncovering innovative programs and recognising the hard work of individuals and organisations across a range of sectors.

“WA’s training system is vital to the future of our State and it is important to reward the hard work and achievements within the industry.

“I would encourage all eligible employers, training providers, trainers and students to apply for the awards, showcase your dedication to training and put your name up in lights in 2019.”
