QANTAS AND JETSTAR SAY ‘HOPPY EASTER’ AS MILLIONS OF HOLIDAYMAKERS TAKE TO THE SKY

Qantas and Jetstar are gearing up for almost four million customers to travel across its domestic and international network on almost 36,000 flights throughout Easter and the proceeding four-week school holidays period.

More than 670,000 customers are expected to be travelling over the Easter long weekend alone, almost a 10 per cent increase on the 2023 Easter holidays. Easter Thursday is the single busiest day, with more than 150,000 customers travelling across the Group.

Popular destinations for holidaymakers include Auckland, Singapore, Bali and Tokyo as well as Gold Coast, Hobart and Cairns.

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

  • A number of additional measures across the Qantas Group will be in place over the holidays including:
    • Up to 15 Qantas and Jetstar aircraft on standby as ‘operational spares’ providing extra buffer in the event of disruptions.
    • A boost to the number of reserve staff and additional staff rostered at busiest ports. The Group is working with industry partners to have extra staff available including additional ground handlers on standby and airport security screeners.
    • Qantas Engineering has set up a dedicated maintenance teams to increase maintenance activity on its aircraft.
  • Qantas and Jetstar’s operational performance continue to outperform their major competitor and both airlines remain focussed on customer experience improvements.

EASTER HOLIDAY SURPRISES

  • Between Friday 29 March and Monday 1 April, customers travelling across the Qantas network can expect a number of Easter surprises during their airport, onboard and lounge experience. Some of these include:
    • Qantas Mascot, Matilda, and her helpers will be delivering a ‘Hoppy Easter’ at Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane Domestic Airport, gifting chocolates to customers. Also, at these airports, customers should also be on the lookout for Easter themed photo booths.
    • Qantas lounges will be serving Hot Cross Buns for breakfast along with mini chocolate eggs and kids will be treated to limited edition Easter themed activity packs.
    • Customers hopping onboard Qantas domestic and international flights will be served an assortment of Easter treats, including KOKO Black Milk Chocolate Eggs, KOKO Black Hazelnut Chocolate Bunnies and Do Good Labs Chocolate Koalas.
  • At Jetstar, customers will be treated to bunny ear headbands and Easter colouring packs and pencils for travelling kids to enjoy on their journey.
