The Crisafulli Government is delivering affordable, reliable and sustainable energy across Queensland, with its Energy Maintenance Guarantee locking in the upkeep of Queensland’s power assets.
Government-owned corporations, CleanCo, CS Energy and Stanwell, achieved their annual Electricity Maintenance Guarantee targets for maintenance, personal safety, process safety and plant performance across their portfolios in 2025-26 financial year.
Unlike Labor whose failure to invest in maintenance led to the 2021 Callide explosion, the Crisafulli Government has committed $1.8 billion to the Electricity Maintenance Guarantee through its Energy Roadmap, to ensure more reliable energy generation and put downward pressure on power prices.
In the 2025-26 financial year Queensland’s state-owned power companies invested in critical infrastructure, exceeded summer availability targets and strengthened the reliability of the Queensland’s energy system.
CS Energy has completed two major overhauls of the Callide C Power Station generating units, both on schedule and within budget.
Stanwell delivered a reliability factor of 99.1 per cent, demonstrating the ongoing delivery of safe, secure and reliable electricity supply to the market.
CleanCo set new generation records this financial year and delivered major projects like the 250-megawatt Swanbank Battery under budget.
The Crisafulli Government is delivering cheaper power costs for regional Queenslanders, with small businesses and households receiving one of the largest drops in a decade.
Treasurer, Minister for Energy and Minister for Home Ownership David Janetzki said Queensland deserved a stable and affordable energy system, and that starts with maintaining existing assets.
“Queenslanders are relying on generators to deliver affordable and reliable electricity supply and the Electricity Maintenance Guarantee ensures an appropriate level of transparency and accountability,” Treasurer Janetzki said.
“Reliable power starts with well-maintained assets and we’re committed to ensuring Queenslanders can count on our generation fleet when demand is at its highest.
“Our approach is already delivering with the Energy Roadmap Price Drop reducing Queenslanders power bills by around 7 per cent for households and more than 8 per cent for small businesses.”
An audited performance of KPIs will be published in annual reports to be tabled in Parliament by 30 September.
