Quick Response Grant Awarded to Leeton Basketball Association

Leeton Shire Council

Council awarded an application for funding totalling $2,000 under the 2023/24 Council Community Strengthening Grants Scheme at its June Ordinary meeting.

Council congratulates the Leeton Basketball Association who has been awarded funding to go towards purchasing a new uniform kit for the Leeton Men and Women representative teams for the MIA League.

The Leeton men and women’s uniforms are currently different designs from each other and worn out from many years of use.

In addition, the new ladies and men uniforms will also match the junior uniforms, unifying the club as one.

Cr Tracey Morris said Council is pleased to support the Leeton Basketball Association in their endeavour.

“The new uniforms will go a long way in forming a sense of belonging and unity across the men, women, and junior teams. Not only will the new design achieve an enhanced representation of Leeton both on and off the field, but it will also embody the pride, conduct and spirit of the game,” she said.

Council’s Community Grants Program includes a ‘Quick Response’ Grant Category which aims to support activities that arise unexpectedly, with limited notice, outside the window of the twice-yearly Community Grants Scheme.

Applications within this category are capped at a maximum of $2,000.
