Rapid Response to illegal dumping

Wyndham City today launched a fleet of four Rapid Response units to tackle illegally dumped rubbish and boost civic pride.

Wyndham Mayor Cr Susan McIntyre said the rapid response units aimed to keep streets and open spaces tidy.

“These trucks will work in zones across Wyndham to ensure we prioritise the removal of dumped rubbish and clean up litter hot spots,” she said.

“Our fleet of four vehicles will raise the litter enforcement efforts of Council, ensuring staff are working with community to raise the profile of civic pride.”

“Three of the trucks will respond to community call outs that are logged with our Customer Service staff and online, while the fourth vehicle will patrol for illegal dumped rubbish.”

“There’s no reason for residents to dump rubbish illegally when Council has a hard waste service and recycling facilities and a refuse disposal facility,” Cr McIntyre said.

“We also encourage recycling at a charity store when the items are in good condition and using Wyndham’s A-Z Interactive Waste guide to find other options to recycle.”

“We are committed to our Keep Wyndham Clean campaign and aim to put a stop incidences of littering and dumping.”
