Police are re-appealing for public assistance after the fatal shooting of Abdullah Bahsa in Sydney’s west earlier this year.
On Monday 16 March 2026, officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command commenced Strike Force Vanport to investigate an alleged shooting on Shale Street, Lidcombe.
During the alleged shooting a 38-year-old man was taken to a hospital; however, he could not be revived.
He has since been identified as Abdullah Bahsa.
A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced an investigation into the incident.
Following inquiries, seven men have since been charged and remain before the court.
As investigations continue, police would like to speak to a man they believe may assist with their inquiries.
The man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, aged in his late teen or early 20s, 190cm tall, slim build, prominent nose, moustache and unshaven face.
He is depicted wearing a black zip-up hoodie hooded jacket with a yellow Nike logo above the left breast, black track pants and white sneakers.
Police are urging anyone who knows the man or has information that may assist investigators to contact Auburn Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Investigations under Strike Force Vanport are continuing.
