Re-appeal for assistance after suspicious house fire – Albion Park

Police are re-appealing for public assistance as investigations continue into a house fire south of Sydney.

Shortly before 11am on Saturday 24 June 2023, emergency services responded to reports of a house fire on Terry Street, Albion Park.

Crews from Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fire, however the building was extensively damaged.

No one was home at the time and there were no reports of injuries.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District commenced an investigation into the incident under Strike Force Cuber.

As inquiries continue, detectives have released images of a man and a woman who may be able to assist police with their inquiries.

Both are described as Caucasian appearance and aged between 35 – 40.

The man is bald, solid build with tattoos on both legs. At the time he was wearing a black jumper, grey shirt, black, white shoes and carrying a black handbag.

The woman has blonde hair and is of a medium build. She was wearing a black-hooded jumper with white shoes and carrying a brown handbag.

As part of the investigation, police have already spoken to a 44-year-old man where a maroon-coloured Toyota Camry has been seized for forensic examination. No charges have yet been laid.

Detectives are urging anyone who may have any knowledge of the man or the vehicle to contact Oak Flats Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
