Reappeal for information after suspicious telecommunications tower fire in Mullumbimby

Investigators are reappealing for information following a suspicious telecommunications tower fire at Mullumbimby in March last year.

Police and emergency services were called to River Terrace about 3am on Friday 18 March 2022, following reports the top section of the tower was well alight.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze before a crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic officers.

Detectives from Tweed/Byron Police District have now released CCTV footage of a person they believe can assist with their inquiries.

The person is depicted as wearing shorts, a hooded jumper, thongs and appears to be carrying a bulky object.

Anyone who can identify the person in the CCTV footage, or who may have any other information, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
