Sadly police have recovered the body of a woman at MacKenzies Beach near Doctors Rocks at Wynyard this evening, believed to be the 22-year-old woman who went missing while swimming off Somerset Beach on 11 November.
Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and loved ones and formal identification will be completed in due course.
At the request of her family, the person’s name will not be released. Media outlets are urged to respect the family’s privacy at this time.
