Repetitive Pair Charged After Brighton Burglary

Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two men following an alleged aggravated burglary in Brighton on Sunday.

It is alleged the pair attended a Glyndon Avenue home and forced entry to an underground carpark, before stealing a Mercedes utility and a Mercedes sedan about 1am.

A short time later it is alleged that they returned to the same address, stealing a Mini Cooper sedan.

The pair are alleged to have returned a third time, stealing two motorbikes about 5.50am.

It is alleged that an electric scooter and handbag containing cash and credit cards were also taken from inside the residence.

Investigators have been told that the occupant of the home slept through all three incidents.

Police located the Mercedes sedan in Frankston several hours later and arrested two men.

A 26-year-old Carrum Downs man and a 21-year-old Carrum Downs man have both been charged with theft of motor vehicle and possess drug of dependence.

The pair have been bailed to appear before Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court on 28 June.
