Ricky Stanicky investment in Australian screen jobs and talent

Production of Ricky Stanicky is the latest boost to our local screen sector, with 410 Australian screen jobs to be created when filiming commences in Victoria in February.

The feature length comedy, directed by Oscar winner Peter Farrelly, follows three childhood friends who create a fictious character to get them out of sticky situations. When their partners become suspicious, they’re forced to hire a washed-up actor to bring him to life with dire, yet hilarious consequences.

The production is expected to inject $70 million into the Australian economy and will provide valuable training and development within Australia.

To date, $421.2 million has been committed under the Location Incentive to attract 37 international productions to Australia. It’s estimated this will generate $3.16 billion in private investment providing more than 23,200 employment opportunities for local cast and crew. The production will also create work for over 22,700 businesses that support these big productions.
