Rider life threatening after collision in Cheltenham

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a collision that has left a motor rider with life-threatening injuries in Cheltenham this morning.

It is believed a blue Toyota sedan was travelling along Charman Road when it collided with a Vespa motorcycle near Sydney Street about 6.50am.

The rider, a 38-year-old Mentone man was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

The driver of the car, a 37-year-old woman is assisting police with their enquiries.

Detectives are currently on scene investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and are keen to speak to any witnesses.
