Following last weekend’s Summer Series afternoon, Horsham is set to host two more riverfront events that are sure to be a hit with locals and visitors.
The first event is the Southern Waters Ski Show Team, which will take place on Australia Day, Friday 26 January, from 2-8pm.
The ski team will be performing on the beautiful Wimmera River, and following their performance, there will be further entertainment at the Riverfront area, including food trucks and live music.
The second event is the Horsham Agricultural Society’s 150km Feast Food Truck & Wine Festival, which will be held on Sunday 25 February from 12-6pm at Stable One in the Maydale Reserve.
The festival is sure to be a hit with foodies and wine lovers, and will feature a range of food trucks and wine vendors.
Horsham Rural City Council Chief Executive Officer Sunil Bhalla said the Summer Series had so far been a great way to bring people together and provide entertainment during the summer months.
“Despite some mixed luck with the weather, the events have been quite popular,” he said.
“Locals have turned out in really good numbers and it was also pleasing to see visitors from neighbouring areas and further afield as well.
“We had some people staying at the caravan park who contacted us on Monday with some very kind words about Sunday’s event and the riverfront in general. That sort of feedback about Horsham is terrific to hear.
“We really appreciate the efforts of our local food trucks, market stall holders and musicians who provided a relaxed atmosphere.
“We want pop up food vans to trade there more regularly. The events have generated quite a bit of enthusiasm from our local mobile traders who want to use the riverfront to their advantage.
“We are reviewing data allows us to see data about transactions and where people are from. This will help us work with vendors to plan future events.
“We still have more summer activities to come, so we hope to see as many people there as possible,” Mr Bhalla said.
