Road and footpath audit

Bayside City Council is undertaking an assessment of the municipality’s road network, footpaths and shared access ways. Inspection work begins Monday 11 May and takes approximately four weeks to complete.

The audit is undertaken by council’s asset inspection contractor, Infrastructure Management Group, as an asset management initiative to obtain detailed video imaging and condition assessment of the community’s road, drainage & footpath assets.

You may see camera equipped, transporter style inspection vehicles or quad bike style inspection vehicles on public footpaths and roads around your work, residence or other locations within the municipality during this period.

All cameras are focused on the road or footpath structure with some limited viewing of areas directly adjacent. No image recordings of commercial, residential, private properties or structures will be undertaken.

This audit is expected to be extremely low impact to the community.

The information gained from this exercise will enable better management of community assets, enabling more effective maintenance and renewal strategies to improve connectivity, mobility & safety.
