Road Rehabilitation Works Underway At Reddall Parade

Shellharbour City Council will begin works on the Reddall Parade pavement rehabilitation project in June, between Mackenzie Avenue and Gathercole Avenue, Mount Warrigal.

The project spans approximately 630 metres of road and is around seven metres wide, forming part of Council’s ongoing road maintenance program and will involve pavement reconstruction and resurfacing works to improve road conditions and extend the life of the asset.

Reddall Parade is a key local connection along Lake Illawarra, providing access for residents, commuters and local traffic travelling between Shellharbour Road and Lake Entrance Road.

During construction, changed traffic conditions will be in place, including temporary lane closures, traffic control and detours to ensure the safety of workers and road users. A detour will be available via Mackenzie Avenue, Landy Drive and Gathercole Avenue. Bus access will be maintained throughout the works.

Boonerah Point carpark will be closed on weekdays between 7am and 5pm during construction and will reopen outside of these hours.

Motorists travelling through the area are advised to allow extra travel time during the construction period.

Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said the project reflects Council’s commitment to maintaining reliable local roads.

“Reddall Parade is an important local route connecting our community along Lake Illawarra,” Mayor Homer said.

“These works will help maintain the condition and performance of the road for residents, commuters and essential services.”

Construction will take place on weekdays between 7am and 5pm, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed by July 2026.
