Police are appealing for any witnesses as part of the investigation into the robbery of a woman and theft of her car at Tabooba, on August 18.
Around 4:00am, the 40-year-old woman had arrived at the front of a friend’s house on Christmas Creek Road when a white Holden utility with red and blue flashing lights approached her 2009 black Toyota Landcruiser.
A man carrying what appeared to be a firearm in a holster approached and instructed her to get out of the vehicle and put her hands on a nearby fence, to which the woman complied.
The woman then observed her Landcruiser and the utility drive away at high speed in a northerly direction towards Beaudesert.
The 40-year-old Tarome woman was not injured during the incident.
Around 9:00am, the Landcruiser was located damaged at Sandy Creek Road, Josephville.
Police are now urging anyone who may have witnessed something suspicious – or anyone who may have recorded dash-camera footage – in the vicinity of Christmas Creek Road at Tabooba between 3.45am and 4.15am, or Sandy Creek Road at Josephville between 4.30am and 6:00am, to come forward.
Investigations continue.
