Robbery with violence at Coolangatta, QLD

Police are investigating after a 17-year-old boy sustained a cut to his hand in a robbery that occurred this afternoon at Coolangatta.

At 3.50pm, a 17-year-old was in a car in a car park on Creek Street when he was approached by two unknown men.

One got into the passenger seat of his vehicle and produced a knife and made demands for cash.

A struggle took place between the pair in the car and the boy sustained a cut to his hand before the pair fled the scene with his mobile phone.

The boy was taken to the Tweed Heads District Hospital for treatment of a laceration to his hand.

Investigations are continuing, and officers are appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw anything to contact them.
