Robbery with violence charges in Sunnybank Hills, QLD

Two men have been charged following investigations into a robbery at a supermarket in Sunnybank Hills yesterday afternoon.

At 4.45pm, a man entered a supermarket on Pinelands Road and walked around the shopping centre and filled the trolley with a number of items.

It will be alleged that the man then attempted to leave the store without paying for the groceries, and when confronted by a staff member, the pair became involved in physical altercation.

The male staff member was thrown into a firehose box as a result of the altercation and suffered a laceration to his head.

The man then ran from the supermarket and fled the scene in a vehicle driven by another man.

The 69-year-old staff member was treated for a laceration to his head.

Investigating police located the car at an address in Algester and two men were taken into custody.

A 19-year-old man from Sunnybank has been charged with armed robbery, break and enter and stealing.

A 19-year-old man from Clontarf has been charged with armed robbery and break and enter.

Both are scheduled to appear before the Richlands Magistrates Court today.
