Rock thrown at truck from overpass in Ballarat North

Ballarat Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance after a rock was thrown into the windscreen of a truck in Ballarat North this morning.

Police have been told a white Isuzu Tilter truck towing machinery was travelling along the Western Freeway about 6.10am.

The truck approached an overhead walking bridge when a piece of concrete struck the driver’s side windscreen and hit the male driver in the chest and landed in his lap.

The driver, a 50-year-old Invermay man, was able to pull over and call police.

He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone that may have been in the area at the time of the incident.
